APPLY: Birthday Party HOST

Birthday Party Host

Weekend Position | $12/hour

The Northeast Texas Children’s Museum is seeking friendly, dependable Birthday Party Hosts to help create joyful celebrations for families on weekends. This is an entry-level, part-time role that supports birthday parties and helps keep the museum welcoming, clean, and safe during busy event days.

Birthday Party Hosts work under the guidance of museum leadership and are an important part of our guest experience—helping families feel supported while also assisting with setup, cleanup, and light supervision in exhibit areas.

What You’ll Do

Birthday Party Hosts assist before, during, and after parties. Responsibilities include:

Before Parties

  • Arrive approximately 30 minutes before the first scheduled party

  • Prepare party rooms (tables, chairs, cleanliness, and supplies)

  • Ensure sign-in sheets and party paperwork are ready

  • Help open and prepare the museum for the day

During Parties

  • Greet the party family and escort them to their party room

  • Assist with bringing supplies in from cars if needed

  • Help keep parties on schedule (including time reminders)

  • Offer light assistance with cake time, announcements, or transitions

  • Monitor party rooms and check in with families throughout the event

  • When not actively assisting a party, help supervise children on the museum floor and keep exhibits neat and safe

After Parties

  • Clean and reset party rooms (tables, chairs, floors, trash)

  • Assist with general museum cleanup after parties conclude

  • Remain approximately 30 minutes after the last party to help close out the space

Schedule & Pay

  • Pay: $12/hour

  • Schedule: Primarily weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday)

  • Hours: Vary based on party bookings; must be able to arrive early and stay after the final party as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Friendly, responsible, and reliable individuals

  • Comfortable working around children and families

  • Willingness to follow clear procedures and work as part of a team

  • Ability to stand, walk, clean, lift light items, and stay active during shifts

  • Strong awareness of child safety and professional boundaries

  • Previous experience with children is helpful but not required
